Tiger Woods sex addiction and transgression are only news worthy because he is Tiger Woods. He was the epitome of integrity, an icon of sporting excellence an example of a loving husband and father.
The Tiger Woods image was shattered in the middle of the night when he mysteriously crashed his car after a row with his wife.
This incident acted as a catalyst for media frenzy into his private life.
Tiger Woods had something to hide. He had a dark side a seedy and secret life he would have rather stayed private!
But how different is he to you and me? He is human isn’t he? Don’t you have secrets you would rather keep hidden?
A Christian Response
Tiger Woods may be a multi millionaire and probably earns more than you earn in a lifetime and he may be a luminary in the world of celebrity when all is said and done he is human, a sinner, no better or worse than the rest of humanity.
Does he deserve the public exposure? No. But has he brought it upon himself? Yes. The bible says pride comes before a fall. Tiger for now is a fallen hero.
Listen, we all have sinned, messed up, and found ourselves in the proverbial. There is not one human being who can be considered righteous. So shouldn’t we heed the word of Jesus: Let him who has no sin cast the first stone? _
I have sympathy for Tiger Woods and pray for his deliverance from sexual addiction. His answer and hope must however rest in Christ not Buddha as he stated recently in his apology.
Jesus came and died for Tiger Woods and every sinner, he became sin that we can become the righteousness of God in Christ. The sinner who admits he needs a saviour and puts his faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, repenting of his sins will find forgiveness and redemption not judgement and vitriol.
All Tiger Woods need to do like the rest of humanity is to put ones faith in Christ and experience grace and mercy. It remains to be seen if he really has repented. But that’s not the point is it? It’s about you. If you need God to forgive you of your sins and set you free from sinful addictions ask him today.
God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleans us from all unrighteousness and that includes sex addictions.
